between the “old” and “new” course of digital investigations.

such as: Live system analysis, e-Discovery, Opensource Vs Commercial
tools are really influencing the market and the methodologies. This
talk will illustrate the current trend in Digital Investigations, with
particular reference to Technologies, research and law.

Presentation 2 - abstract: PTK
is an alternative advanced interface for the suite TSK (The Sleuth
Kit). PTK was developed from scratch and besides providing the
functions already present in Autopsy Forensic Browser it
implements numerous new features essential during forensic activity.
PTK is not just a new graphic and highly professional interface based
on Ajax technology but offers a great deal of features like analysis,
search and management of complex cases of digital investigation. This
Presenation will be a tutorial for this new and, universally defined,
really interesting project.

Dario Forte:
Dario
Forte, CFE, CISM, is Adjunct Professor of Digital Forensics and
Incident Management at University of Milano DTI. Former police
detective and founder of DFLabs has worked in information security
since 1992. He has been involved in numerous international conferences
on information warfare, including the RSA Conference, Digital Forensic
Research Workshops, the Computer Security Institute, the US Department
of Defense Cybercrime Conference, and the US Department of Homeland
Security (New York Electronic Crimes Task Force). He was also the
keynote speaker at the Black Hat conference in Las Vegas. He provides
security consulting, incident response and forensics services to
several government agencies and private companies.
